5 Blackjack Personalities Who’ll Annoy You Forever

When playing blackjack, it can be difficult to stay pleasant and professional at the table, especially when you’re surrounded by some of the most annoying personalities imaginable. Blackjack players come in all shapes and sizes, but these five personalities are sure to drive you up the wall and try your patience to the limits.

1. The Chatty Card Counter

This person believes they are hot stuff, and talks incessantly about their blackjack strategy. They are convinced that the only way to beat the house is by keeping track of every card, and they will explain their system as if it’s the only way to play. Their endless chattering is sure to drive the other players up the wall, and their smug assurance that they are winning the game will make you want to strangle them.

2. The Lucky Streak Believer

This type of player thinks that luck is the only factor in the game. They will talk about their “lucky streak” or “lucky cards” as if these are the only things that matter. They will draw attention to their luck, and make it seem as though the house edge is irrelevant. This is sure to annoy you, as you’re trying to focus on your strategy and they’re just making it all about luck.

3. The Overly-Rigid Rule-Follower

This player is meticulous about following the rules, and will make sure everyone else around the table does too. They will lecture everyone about the dos and don’ts, and be quick to call out anyone who deviates from the rules. No one likes a stickler, and this player’s attitude is sure to rub everyone the wrong way.

4. The Distracted Multi-Tasker

This player can’t seem to focus on the game at hand. They will be texting, talking on the phone, or checking their emails while they’re playing. Not only is this disruptive, but it will also make you feel like they’re not taking the game seriously, and that can be really irritating.

5. The Overly-Critical Tablemate

This person will criticize everyone’s play, and make it clear that they know better than everyone else. They will comment on every move you make, and act as though their opinion is better than everyone else’s. No one likes to be criticized, and this player’s attitude can be sure to push your buttons.

Although these five personalities may be annoying, it is important to remember that the game of blackjack is meant to be enjoyable. If you find yourself surrounded by these personalities, take a deep breath and try to remember that at the end of the day it’s all just a game.
